Summary of the job by Julia Hart
Well how to summarise the job here.
I suppose it could be summed up as a photography assistant, alongside some admin tasks on the computer.
It’s kind of like being at uni, being over here.
You arrange your own flights, and accommodation, you sort your own food, make your own friends and do your own thing.
The only thing that is arranged for you is your guaranteed job.
All those arrangements seem very daunting when you first think about it, especially when it’s in a foreign country, but it really is easy.
There are so many people that have worked out here for the last few years, that they are more than happy to help.
The jobs itself is mainly dealing with holidaymakers. Some of them are really friendly, and you will meet some genuinely lovely people.
However some of them are pains in the arses, but you learn to deal with them, or best of all we just avoid them!
Dave offers a professional personalised photo service to all 2wentys and Freestyle guests. He comes along on all the trips, capturing those drunken antics, encouraged by the reps. He then gives the guests the opportunity to buy those memories, which hopefully gives them a chance to try
to piece back together the night before.
All photos are delivered on a door-to-door service, that’s where I came in. After I have taken the orders from the guests, and Dave has processed it, I then pack the orders into envelopes, then go around the hotels delivering them, and taking payment.
I worked split shifts, which worked to my advantage, as I had a chance to sunbath in the afternoon, and finished quite early at night. This meant I still had a chance to go out every night with my friends.
Work the next day would start around 11am, so long as it wasn’t too late a night the night before, it wouldn’t be too difficult getting up.
I get paid monthly, including a weekly bonus, when I reached the required sale results.
